First Round

Lets play!

There’s a certain romance and intrigue in the way we view cities through a camera lens. The sweeping skyline shots, the moody alleys, the neon lights bouncing off car hoods at night — it’s all become part of the visual language we use to show the “vibe” of a place. But somewhere along the way, we started losing the soul of it all: the people who actually shape those streets.

That’s where Fork & Vinyl was born — out of a hunger to go beyond the aesthetic and into the heartbeat of the city.

I didn’t want to just capture the people, shops, and food from a distance. I wanted to walk into the corners that algorithms forget or tend to shy away from. I wanted to sit across from the record store owner who’s inspiration to own a music shop was more than just a gig. I wanted to share a plate of something that’s been passed down through generations, was meticulously created from love or seasonal inspiration. And I wanted to tell their stories — raw and unpolished.

We’re not just visiting restaurants or browsing shelves of LPs. We are connecting with creators, cooks, collectors, dreamers, the kind of people who built their businesses with their own two hands and a whole lot of grit.

This project will be part blog, part documentary, part love letter to L.A. and beyond.  It will be stories about the culture and what is behind it that drives it. It’s for anyone who’s ever wondered who really makes a city what it is.  This is the perfect time to share the love for food, music and community, and support those amazing establishments that need it.

Welcome to Fork & Vinyl.  The needle just dropped.
